About Us
Forever Home Dog Rescue is a nonprofit, volunteer-run rescue organization based in Washington State. Since 2012, our mission has been simple but deeply intentional: to rescue dogs in need and place them in true forever homes, not just temporary ones.
The majority of the dogs in our care come from overcrowded shelters where they were at risk of being overlooked or running out of time. We partner with shelters and rescues, both locally and out of state, including California, Louisiana, Texas, Idaho, and beyond, to help dogs who need a second chance. We also occasionally accept local owner surrenders on a case-by-case basis when circumstances require it.
Dogs come to us from many different backgrounds and in many different states of well-being; some confident, some shut down, some needing medical care, training, or simply time to decompress. Our focus is not just rescuing dogs, but setting them up for long-term success by learning who they are, what they need, and what type of home will truly be the best fit.
Because of this, our adoption process may be more thorough than some. We ask thoughtful questions and carefully consider each application because we are committed to finding the right match, not the quickest one. Every dog deserves stability, consistency, and a home where they can thrive for the rest of their life.
At Forever Home Dog Rescue, we believe rescue is about responsibility, to the dogs, and to the people adopting them. Everything we do is centered around advocacy, transparency, and creating lasting placements that benefit both dogs and their families.
